My go-to for protein bars

I've been getting my protein bars from Sens Foods for a while now, usually the Peanut Butter and Cinnamon ones. They're consistently good, and I like that I know what I'm getting. Shipping is always reliable, usually gets here within a few days, so I don't have to worry about running out. This time I also tried the Fusilli Cricket Pasta, which was decent, not bad at all. It's just easy to order here, and I appreciate the quality.

Good taste, quick shipping

I ordered the Sens Tasting Pack and was pleasantly surprised. The Peanut Butter and Cinnamon Protein Bar was actually quite good, better than I expected for cricket protein. Shipping was faster than stated, got it in about three days. The packaging was neat, and everything arrived intact. I appreciate their mission too. Overall, a solid experience for a first-time try.

Tried the insect starter kit

I finally decided to try out some of these cricket-based products after hearing about them. I got the Insect Protein Starter Kit and it was an interesting experience. The Roasted Crickets were actually pretty good, especially the Chilli and Lime ones. The protein bar was okay, not my favorite flavor but it did the job. Shipping was a bit slower than I hoped, took about a week to get here, but everything was packaged well. It's a good way to test the waters if you're curious about insect protein. I might try just the roasted crickets next time.

Interesting protein bars

Decided to try these out after seeing an ad. I grabbed a multi-pack of the Dark Chocolate and Sour Cherry Protein Bars. The flavor was pretty decent, not too overwhelming, and I couldn't really tell it was cricket protein. The texture was good too, not chalky like some other bars. Shipping was fine, nothing special, but it got here when it said it would. I'm glad I gave them a shot, might try the pasta next time.

Decent value on bundles

I was looking for a healthier protein source and stumbled upon Sens Foods. I got the High Protein Snack Bundle, which offered a pretty good discount compared to buying everything separately. The price per item felt reasonable with the bundle savings. Shipping was free because my order was over 50 bucks, which is always a plus. The Banana and Chocolate Protein Bar was my favorite. I think it was a good investment for the quality and quantity I received.

Love the cricket flour!

I just got my order of Cricket Flour and it's amazing! I used it in my morning smoothie and it blended perfectly, no weird taste at all. The protein boost is fantastic, and I feel great knowing it's sustainable. I'm already planning my next baking project with it. So glad I found Sens Foods, will definitely be a regular customer!

I'm worried about the 'cricket' part, lol. What do these bars actually taste like? Does it taste like bugs?

M Megan Whitfield 1 month ago
Nah, it doesn't taste like bugs at all. More like a regular protein bar, just a bit earthier maybe. The chocolate and cherry one is pretty good.

Honestly, you can't even tell it's cricket. I've tried a few flavors and they just taste like a normal protein bar. The added flavors cover it completely.

is Sens Foods better than like, Exo Protein? Or are they pretty much the same?

J June Okafor 2 months ago
I've tried both and honestly, Sens has a better taste IMO. Exo was a little too 'gritty' for me.

Sens seems more focused on sustainability overall, not just the protein source. Both good options, but I lean towards Sens.

Anyone know about their return policy if I buy a bunch of stuff and end up not liking it? Especially the roasted crickets, not sure if I'll be brave enough to finish them lol.

T Troy 2 months ago
I think for food items it's usually pretty strict, like if it's opened they can't take it back. Better to check their site but that's my general experience with food.

Yeah, I had an issue with a damaged bar once and they were cool about replacing it, but for just 'not liking it' after opening, I doubt it. Maybe try a small tasting pack first if you're on the fence about the roasted ones!

Are these products okay for someone with a shellfish allergy? Heard crickets are kinda related to shrimp and stuff so just wanna be safe.

D Dan K. 2 months ago
Oh yeah, that's a good point! I definitely remember reading somewhere on their site or in an FAQ that if you have a shellfish allergy, you should probably avoid cricket products. It's a cross-allergen thing, I think.

Yup, saw that too. They specifically warn about it. Better safe than sorry, might want to steer clear if you have a known shellfish allergy.

I have a shellfish allergy, should I avoid these cricket products? Heard something about cross-reactivity.

A Andre 2 months ago
Yeah, they usually have a warning about that. It's because crickets are insects, which are related to shellfish. Better safe than sorry.

I've seen their FAQs mention it. If you have a shellfish allergy, it's probably best to avoid cricket protein.
